Biography: 

Jordan is a clinical supervisor for counseling at Bastyr Center for Natural Health and the owner of Atlas Counseling PLLC, a private counseling practice in Seattle.

Education:

Jordan earned her Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2013. She has since completed extensive post-graduate training in addiction counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy for children and adolescents, and play therapy for all ages.

Teaching/Healing Philosophy:

Jordan believes that the integration of creativity in counseling fosters personal resilence, creative problem solving, and holistic productivity. Jordan's primary goal as a counselor is to provide a safe space for clients to identify their unique perspective and strengths, improve their relationships with others, and creatively resolve the concerns that brought them to counseling in the first place.

Clinical Interests:

Jordan works with individuals across the lifespan utilizing an integrative model of attachment/attunement, authenticity, and skill building. She specializes in the treatment of children, teenagers, and their families; and she works most often with childhood anxiety, disruptive or nonconforming behavior, and families in transition.

Past Professional Experience:

Jordan's clinical experience includes counseling survivors of domestic violence, providing rural behavioral health services, and offering school-based counseling for youth. In addition, she has developed and managed a graduate internship program, coordinated clinical services for a nonprofit agency, and supervised both counseling interns and professional associates.

Jordan is a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors, the American Counseling Association, the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling, the Association for Play Therapy, and the Washington Association for Play Therapy.
